Songs I like this September (2011)
5. Nwa Baby by Flavour.
This song has me jumping all over the place everytime I hear the first note...
4. Tobina by Daddy Owen.
Gospel music is quite a hit in Kenya. I have been guilty of gyrating to it in the club at one in the morning. And it is all because of catchy tunes like Tobina :-)
3. Danza Kuduro by Don Omar
I could almost swear that the first time I heard thiss song was as the credits rolled on the movie Fast Five... Love it!
2. Rechazame by Prince Royce
I learnt about this Bachata song from my friend Nicky. We were at Brew Bistro in Nairobi for the Salsa night. This has got to be the most delightful song I have ever come across..
1. A drop in the Ocean by Ron Pope.
I first came across it while watching Vampire Diaries Season 3 Episode 1. It is the last song that plays during the episode... Ron's voice is divine.

Confessions Of A 21st Century African Girl
My history is intriguing. So am I. My tribe is near extinct, most of my forefathers assimiliated into the Luo tribe of Kenya. My 91 year old grandfather is the last of the Suba speakers in 24 hills back in our rural home.
I am taller and way more big boned than the rest of my family members....including my father, mother and twin brother! The last time my dear grandfather was in the city visiting i sat him down and asked him which relative i took after with this outstanding stature.... To my surprise he chuckled and then proceeded to elabortely describe his late grandmother! She was just as robust, vigorous and alive as I. In times of war the village could count on her fighting alongside her male conterparts, having as many kills if not more than them. Her maternal skills were just as phenomenal, and so were her farming abilities in times of peace.
With the genetics of such a brave, authoritative, confident, bountiful, exuberant, and luxurious woman, should i not then be the ultimate catch in the 21st century? Wrong! I intimidate men with my strengths, startle them with my intelligence, alarm them with my excellent social skills and wear them out with my sexual appetitie. Is there no one who can step up and be man enough to bag me? Am i doomed to an abyss of solitude for all eternity?
